Everything I’ve Safeguarded
Regina Puckett
You’ve burned down every barrier I’ve built and erected
You destroyed everything I’ve safeguarded and protected
Is there nothing sacred to your cold, blackened heart
Or is it your job to personally tear my world apart?
Well that certainly says heartbreak Regina. 😦 Can one say nicely done to such a piece? I think so. Nicely done (even if it does stab my White Knight syndrome in the codpiece). 🙂

You made me laugh. Were you able to say that with a straight face? I hope not. Don’t be sad. Not all of my poems are written from true life, of course now you have to figure out which ones are… Codpiece? I feel a poem needs to be written now. What rhymes with that?

No, I know that it’s just a fictional piece. I get the same thing, sympathy from readers who think I’m in the dumps. You and I know that we poest cobble together bits and pieces of our experiences to form an amalgamous (that may be a made up word, unsure) story. As for rhyming codpiece, uh uh, no way. 🙂 Have a good Holiday weekend.

I know that like me you cobble together the bits and pieces of our experiences to form an amalgamous (not sure that’s a real word) story. I get the sympathetic comments too when I write a dark poem. Usually I just let it ride because it tells me that I connected with that reader. Have a great Holiday weekend. 🙂

I have people all the time on Facebook sending me messages concerned because I’ve posted a new poem, because the poem made it sound like I was going to jump off a bridge or something. I’m too afraid of heights to ever jump off of anything. Now I might push someone one day but that’s for another day and another poem. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
