I’ll Keep Running

Regina Puckett

I struggled over a precipitous ridge

Only to face crossing an unsteady bridge

I needed a moment to catch my breath

But over my shoulder I saw Death

Running toward me at an alarming rate

So I struggled onward to escape my fate

But he kept tapping me on my shoulder

Each day getting a little bolder and bolder

But I kept running ever forward and away

Knowing that Death would finally have his way
