There’s Still Hope

Regina Puckett

While I waited for the perfumes

Of spring’s beautiful blooms

Death stalked like a hunter

That old despicable winter

His icy grip squeezed and tightened

Laughing as the ground whitened

Killing everything within sight

Just another sign of his might

But I’ll wait because I know

There’s still hope beneath the snow
