Soon Enough

Regina Puckett

I’m running with the sharpest scissors today

My reckless intentions keeping the world at bay

I’m singing so loud my nosey neighbors complain

And even if lightning strikes, I’m standing in the rain

I’m laughing so hard I can’t come up for air

And with my eyes closed, I can act like I don’t care

I dare anyone to interrupt my day of pretend

Because soon enough, this happiness will end
