In Each Thread
Regina Puckett
I was asked if I could do a redo
What day or year would I not go through?
I stopped and studied all my pain and tears
And looked backward through all those years
And realized that each heartbreak
Was something I would be willing to take
Over and over again if I had to
Because it was what I had to go through
To grab each and every delicate thread
Of what I did and what I said
They made the tapestry of my life
Each fiber of mother, daughter and wife
I would never chance losing any part
Because in each thread is a piece of my heart
