Child Support
Regina Puckett
A little girl looks right back at me
She doesn’t think that I can see
She’s behind my old woman mask
I count on her with every task
She keeps this old heart young
And helps me to climb up each rung
Up and up we continue to go
She pushes me when I go too slow
She pushes me to continue to try
She’s there when all I want to do is cry
She reminds me that life is much too short
That little girl is my child support
