Only Yesterday

With each stolen pill and drink

I feel my heart diminish and shrink

Each night spent on this park bench

My life is swallowed in this ungodly stench

Every day I get farther and farther away

From the person I was only yesterday

I no longer see the stares or hear the taunts

Because I’m lost in of my daily unfilled wants
