The Moon was a Witness
Regina Puckett

A few adventurous fairies caught a ride on a summer breeze
In unison they settled onto the branches of some oak trees
They watched the mortals below in amused bewilderment
Were the poor souls glued to the earth because of banishment?
Feeling like they should try and help the exiled in some way,
The fairies flew down to the mortals and invited them to play
The moon was a witness to an evening filled with songs and flight
A time when myth, fairytales and glee met one summer night
