Your Soul's Doors

Your Soul’s Doors
Regina Puckett

My fingers stroke your cheek,
As my soul longs to peek
Beneath your equable façade.
I long to know what keeps me awed.
Is it your unquenchable thirst for life,
Or the way you always rise above life’s strife?
What always pulls my heart to yours?
But as I draw near, your eyes close your soul’s door.
